Overview
When former Green Beret John Rambo is harassed by local law enforcement and arrested for vagrancy, the Vietnam vet snaps, runs for the hills and rat-a-tat-tats his way into the action-movie hall of fame. When he explodesnear the beginning of “First Blood”, hurling cops aside and breaking out of ajail with his fists and speed, it's such a convincing demonstration of physicalstrength and agility that we never question the scene's implausibility. Infact, although almost all of “First Blood” is implausible, because it'sStallone on the screen, we'll buy it. What we can't buy in this movie is the message.It's handled in too heavy-handed a way.
